Meet Josh

 

Josh Russell researches, constructs and monitors models and portfolios for Carson as a Portfolio Manager of QBI investment strategies.

He is a prominent quantitative researcher with 15 years of experience in developing and programming algorithms and nearly a decade of industry experience with reputed investment firms.

Before joining Carson, Josh served as a VP at Franklin Templeton, where he performed quantitative factor and ESG research. He earned a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Josh’s primary focus at Carson is managing the quantitative process of the QBI systematic strategies and enhance these strategies through factor-based research and data automation.

Josh lives in the NY metro area with his wife, Diana, and their kids, Avalon and Ray. When not fishing and camping with the family, Josh enjoys shark diving, motorcycles, and running 100-mile marathons.
